Gas Micropoint™

MICROPOINTTM HOSES & FITTINGS

The British Gas plc developed and approved gas carcassing system, based on 12 mm and 10 mm pipe sizes for natural gas and LPG up to a pressure of 50 mbar. Fittings also available with 8 mm and 6 mm inlets. MICROPOINT™ is made in the UK by a BS EN ISO 9001:2008 registered company. Please note that MICROPOINT™ hoses and sockets are not interchangeable with the widely used 1⁄2" cooker hoses and sockets.

BAYONET TYPE PLUG-IN MICROPOINTTM HOSES

Natural Gas hoses produced to BS 669-1:1989. LPG hoses produced to BS 669-1:1989 with the substitution of rubber thread with nitrile and outer sleeve with neoprene to BS 6505/BS EN 549 and BS 3212 respectively. Right-angled plug in hose connection which keeps the hose close to the wall. Other end of hose is 1/2" BSP taper male.
For ambient temperatures up to 70°C, and 95°C touch temperature.

RIGID FIX CONNECTORS

The rigid fix connector is used to provide a connection from the wall to a gas fire, light or heater. With a self-sealing valve in the connector, gas only passes when elbow is pushed in and the ribbed compression nut is tightened. When undone and the elbow moved outwards the gas is cut off. The elbow may be rotated and tightened in any position.
The inlet is an end feed union, either 12 mm male and 10 mm female or 8 mm male and 6 mm female. The outlet can be 8 mm, 10 mm or 12 mm compression or 15 mm end feed.

TERMINATION POINTS, BOXES

White flush fitting or wall-mounted plastic boxes with and 85 mm square fascia which contains a termination fitting that blocks the gas supply. On commissioning the fitting is replaced by P/N 6056 or 6057 (please click here for these parts) or a wall-mounted rigid fix P/Ns 7320 to 7329 (please click here for these parts), to give a compression or end feed outlet. The same box may be kept as it is only necessary to buy the plug-in socket or rigid fix fitting.

WALL-MOUNTED BOXED GAS CONTROL VALVES

To be used as a gas valve (on/off) or for adjusting flow rate which after setting, the knob can be removed and the press out disc replaced on the fascia to discourage unauthorised alteration. Alternatively the on/off knob may be left fitted. The gas ball valve is to BS 1552:1989. Can be used as part of gas Micropoint™ installation.

SOCKET FOR MICROLINETM HOSES

Straight plug-in MicrolineTM hose socket. Manufactured to BS 669-1:1989 by a
BS EN ISO 9001:2008 registered company. Patented brass socket with safety feature which disconnects the hose and cuts off the gas in the event of a fire.
Removing the bayonet hose from the socket cuts off the gas supply. Interchangeable with a MicropointTM socket. Will not accept Slimline hoses or the widely used standard cooker hoses.
