The larger capacity meters above are very bulky. For some applications the compact turbine meters are worth considering.

G1.6 to G65 Meters

Manufactured by BS EN ISO 9001:2000 companies in Europe, certified under the European certification regime, and sealed.
Check in the above table that these meters have the inlet/outlet dimension ‘A’ and thread size which meet your requirements because these may differ from the traditional ‘UK’ dimensions. Meters read in cubic metres.All these meters are fitted with a test point except P/Ns 8955, 8293, 18416, and 18417.

Suffix P indicates a meter with a pulse facility; a pulse plug with lead is supplied with all such meters. This need not be used.

U6 to U160 Meters

Manufactured in the UK by BS EN ISO 9001:2000 companies. Low pressure-drop meters manufactured and certified as conforming to BS 4161. Ofgas sealed. These meters have the same inlet/outlet dimension ‘A’ and threads as the meters fitted historically by British Gas. They have BG standard anti-tamper pulse output and BG Transco standard pulse plug sockets. Meters read in cubic metres. Fitted with a test point, except P/Ns 8304, 8305 and 19980.

G4 Meter with dimension 'A' the same as a U6 meter.

Manufactured by a BS EN ISO 9001:2000 company in Italy, certified and sealed. This meter has the same inlet/outlet dimension ‘A’ and threads as the U6 meters historically fitted by British Gas. Fits meter housing boxes. Replaces a U6 meter at an economical price. Meter reads in cubic metres. Fitted with a test point.

U6 Pound/Euro Coin Meters

P/Ns 8996 and 16700 are meters reconditioned by a BS EN ISO 9001:2000 company. They come with a hasp which requires a padlock (not supplied with the meter). Click here for padlocks.There is no built in lock with key.

Suffix P indicates a meter with pulse facility. This need not be used: these meters may also be read directly in the normal way. To use pulse facility a pulse plug is needed (not supplied with the meter).

No claim in respect of damage, internal or external, to a gas meter of size U16 or G6 or larger will be accepted unless such damage is notified in writing by the end of the working day following our customer's receipt of the meter. We suggest that the internal mechanism is checked by passing air through the meter and noting that it registers.
