White glass fibre meter boxes with key. Built-in or wall-mounted, with fitted meter bracket.
Known as Mark 2 boxes.
The built-in box fits a recess 535 mm high x 365 mm wide x 150 mm deep.
P/N 8310 and 9357 will house U6 meters and G4 meters (P/N 19957 or 12845) or the E6 meter (P/N 7354). P/Ns 7427 and 7428 will house G4 meters (P/N 8293), G4P (P/N 18409) and G6 meters (P/Ns 18410 and 18411).
The boxes are supplied with one P/N 0981 adaptor and rubber-type washer (plus security washer and bolt), giving one 22 mm capillary male connection. The other meter bracket slot will accept a meter adaptor P/N 0981, 0982, 20353, or 0217. This meter adaptor needs to be ordered separately, along with washer (click here) and security washer and shear bolt (see bottom of this page).

A meter bracket is designed to suspend a gas meter, using the two male threaded bosses on the top of the meter. Two specially designed meter union adaptors with grooves in them (P/N 0980, 0981, 0982, 20353, or 0217 on page 37) are slid into the two slots in the meter bracket. The meter is then attached to these two adaptors.
To prevent the meter union adaptors being moved by unauthorised people, a security washer and shear bolt are then applied to each adaptor. The meter brackets may be fitted directly to a wall, or to the floor-mounted bracket (P/N 6229). Meter brackets are also supplied ready fitted to the meter housing boxes above.
Three sizes of brackets are available, as follows;

Inlet accepts P/N 0980 (giving 1" BSP taper male thread). Outlet accepts P/N 0981, 0982, 20353 or 0217 (giving 22 mm capillary male, 3/4" BSP taper male, or 1" BS 746 male threads respectively). |
