Caravan Regulators, LPG Valves and Fittings

Whilst the maximum capacity of each of the regulators is as stated below, the gas engineer/operative must ensure that the offtake of the cylinders used is adequate for the application/installation.
Caravan Regulator & Fittings
New caravan and motor home regulations. BS EN 1949:2002 requires regulators (to BS EN 12864:2001 Annex D) to be fitted within gas lockers in new caravans and motor homes (from September 2003). P/N 16543 below meets this specification. The other products below are for use with the regulator and gas bottle.
Low Pressure Regulator for Leisure Vehicles

Low pressure requlator designed to comply with BS EN 1949:2002 (EN 12864:2001 Annex D). For touring and motor caravans with appliances operating at 30 mbar. Integral pressure relief valve and test point, 1.5 kg/h, 30mbar operating pressure for propane, butane and LPG mix. Inlet M20 outlet 10mm compression, complete on mounting bracket. Hose P/N 16639, 16852, 16640, or 16853 (below) may be used to connect the regulator to the gas bottle. The M20 thread on the regulator accepts the W20 thread on the hoses. Alternatively 400mm hose P/N 16712 or 1500mm hose 17802 will attach the adaptors (below) to the regulator

Automatic changeover valve for recreational vehicles. Complies with BS EN 1949 : 2002 and BS EN 13786 : 2004 : Annex B.

Nominal outlet pressure 30 mbar. Nominal flow rate 1.5 kg/hour.

Over-pressure safety valve for the range 60 - 150 mbar. Non-return valve on each inlet connection for safe replacement of a cylinder.

Adaptors for Gas Bottles.

Adaptors to connect a clip-on or Camping Gaz type gas bottle to the regulator P/N 16543 (above). Hose P/N 16712 or 17802 (below) will be needed to complete the connection. The M20 thread on these valves accepts the W20 thread on the hose. The Camping Gaz item P/N 16643 is fitted with an on-off valve, clip-on items are not. Other bottles, with threaded propane or butane connections, need hose P/N 16639, 16852, 16640, or 16853 (below), which run directly from the bottle to the regulator.

Hose Assemblies
High pressure black hose to (and marked) BS 3212 : Type 2. 6.3 mm i.d., 15.5 mm o.d., 17.5 bar working pressure, 52 bar burst pressure. Unbraided. A self adhesive advisory label is attached to every hose. N/R indicates a non-return/excess flow valve. P/Ns 16639, 16852, 16640 and 16853 connect directly from the bottle to the regulator above. P/Ns 16712 and 17802 connect from the adaptors above to the regulator above.

1/4" Solenoid Operated Gas Safety Shut-off Valves

12 V DC or 240 V AC. 1/4" BSP for LPG or Natural Gas. Normally closed valve which is held open by electric current. Power interruption closes the valve; power supply opens the valve. It can be electrically connected to an alarm system and/or a knock-off switch. May be mounted in any orientation, provided direction of flow agrees with arrow on body.

Automatic Cut-Off Valve
Automatic cut-off valve for use with propane or butane. Quick acting quarter turn shut-off. Must be placed in gas line between regulator and appliance. Detects loss of pressure or excess flow. Cuts off gas supply to appliance automatically and can only be re-set manually. A cut-off valve of this type is mandatory on all British fishing vessels over 10 metres long using LPG. 3/8" BSP connections.

Multi-Purpose Safety Fitting

 

A multi-purpose fitting which performs three safety functions. It is an excess flow valve which shuts off the gas if for example a pipe on the outlet side is cut (manual reset is required). It enables a leak test to be carried out. It also gives an indication of the cylinder's content.
Inlet: Male POL + 5/8" LH.
Outlet: Female POL + 5/8" LH.
Will fit directly to a propane bottle.
