TracPipe® is a stainless steel, semi-rigid (bendable) corrugated gas pipe with a yellow polyethylene cover. The cover is fire and smoke retardant. Semi-rigid piping has been used in North America for 20 years and Japan for 30 years. TracPipe® and its associated fittings (including Autoflare® connectors) are Kitemarked and Advantica (formerly B G Technology) approved to BS 7838:1996 Corrugated stainless steel semi-rigid pipe and associated fittings for low pressure gas pipework of up to DN50. BS 7838 applies to corrugated pipe and fittings which are suitable for a maximum working pressure of 75 mbar when installed in accordance with BS 6891 or BS 5482-1 in domestic premises, or in accordance with IGE/UP/2 in other premises.
No welding, soldering or threading is needed. An Autoflare® fitting, two spanners, a utility knife and a Tracpipe® ( Click Here ) tube cutter are required to make a join. Also listed below are taper male fittings which allow TracPipe® to be connected to other pipes or fittings. The pipe may be bent by hand, but must NOT be used where repeated bending occurs after installation. For working pressures up to 75 mbar.
