All Types Of Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings Available
Different installations call for different jointing methods. BES offers a vast selection of stainless-steel fittings and tube options designed to meet professional installation standards.
Screwed Stainless Steel Fittings (BSP)
With elbows, reducing sockets, nipples, hexagon bushes, cone seat unions and many more, we have a large variety of BSP screwed fittings in all sizes. We also offer a wide selection of 316 Stainless Steel elbows, tees and crosses.
Flexible Stainless Steel Fittings
When a little movement or bridging needs to happen for your connection to be sound, our flexible couplers, washers, tees and more won’t let you down. This range also includes some standout options from Gastite, Gas Flex Systems and TracPipe.
Compression Stainless Steel Fittings
When you need a “bite” on your fitting and know that pressure/temperature resistance is essential, our reliable compression fittings do the job - we stock male and female stud couplings, straight and bulkhead couplings, elbows, tees, caps & many more. We do have higher-grade 316 compression stainless steel products in stock too.
Press-Fit Stainless Steel Fittings
Great for HVAC and hot or cold water systems, many of our press-fit products have a Leak Before Press (LBP) feature as standard. Our range includes elbows, adaptors, tees, connectors, reducers, couplers and many more.
Stainless Steel Tubes
To complement the fittings range, BES also stocks stainless steel tubes suitable for compression, threading and press-fit systems. Supplied in 3m lengths, our tube range includes 304 and 316L stainless steel options, along with standard steel variants to suit different installation requirements.
Compression vs Press-Fit - What’s The Difference?
Both systems do the job, it just comes down to how you want to make the joint. Compression fittings rely on tightening the nut and olive onto the pipe to create a strong mechanical seal. They’re straightforward, require no specialist pressing tool and are a popular choice for smaller jobs or where access is tight. Press-fit fittings are designed for speed and consistency. Using a compatible pressing tool, the fitting is permanently secured in seconds. On larger projects, this can save significant installation time.
304 vs 316 Stainless Steel - Which Grade Should You Choose?
304 stainless steel is a solid all-rounder and is widely used in general plumbing and mechanical systems. 316 and 316L stainless steel offer improved resistance to corrosion, particularly in harsher environments such as coastal areas, plant rooms or applications where water quality may be more aggressive. If the installation is exposed to moisture, chemicals or outdoor conditions, 316 is often the preferred choice.
Always check project specifications before selecting material grade.
Stainless Steel Fittings For Gas Installations
Flexible stainless systems are commonly used in domestic gas installations, especially where reduced joint count and easier routing are required. Options from Gastite, Gas Flex Systems and TracPipe are trusted solutions across the trade.
All gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Thread Types & Compatibility
Most of our screwed stainless steel fittings are supplied in BSP thread forms, making them compatible with common UK plumbing systems. When mixing materials, always consider the risk of galvanic corrosion and ensure appropriate transition fittings are used where necessary.
Experience Is Everything To Us
At BES, we’ve been supplying the trade for over 50 years, so we understand what matters on site - reliable stock, straightforward ordering and fittings that do exactly what they’re supposed to. Our stainless steel range is chosen with real installations in mind, giving plumbers, heating engineers and mechanical contractors confidence in every connection.

FAQs
Are stainless steel fittings suitable for domestic gas systems?
Yes, certain flexible stainless steel systems are commonly used in domestic gas installations. All gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel fittings?
316 grade offers improved corrosion resistance compared to 304, particularly in coastal or chemically aggressive environments.
What does Leak Before Press (LBP) mean?
LBP is a feature in some press-fit fittings that allows unpressed joints to be identified during pressure testing, helping reduce installation errors.
Can stainless steel fittings be used with copper pipe?
Yes, but care must be taken to minimise galvanic corrosion risk through proper system design and suitable transition fittings.
What thread type are your screwed stainless steel fittings?
Most screwed stainless steel fittings are supplied in BSP thread forms. Always check product specifications for exact dimensions and thread type.
