Gas Purge Units

The GEA professional purge unit is easy to use and enables purging to be carried out safely according to the Institution of Gas Engineers document UP/1 and 1A, (click here to see these publications). Quick and simple to set to the correct velocity to minimise gas emissions to the atmosphere. No calculations required. The unit can be used for setting up meter regulators under flow conditions to save a second visit when appliances are being commissioned. The complete package is contained in a durable aluminium framed box.

Gas to Air Fan Purge Units

The GEA professional gas to air fan purge unit is easy to use and enables purging and decommissioning to be carried out safely according to the Institution of Gas Engineers document UP/1 and 1A, (click here to see these publications). When used in conjunction with GEA’s gas purge unit, it enables pipework and meters to be rapidly purged to air in a safe manner according to IGE recommendations. The unit can also pressurise pipework for the soundness test of new 21 mbar pipework.
The unit is also fitted, in case of a mistake, with a check valve on the fan to prevent gas reversing into the fan assembly. The unit comes complete with 5 m of hose for connection to a 1" (100 mm model) or 1.1/4" (150 mm model) BSP inlet. 110 V. The complete package is contained in a durable aluminium framed box.

CONTINUITY BOND, TEMPORARY

Temporary continuity bonds to be used when disconnecting or reconnecting pipework in circumstances where a spark could cause a hazard. These bonds meet the specification recommended in BS 6891 : 1998 Specification for installation of low pressure gas pipework of up to 28 mm (R1) in domestic premises (2nd family gas). The cross-sectional area of each bond is not less than 10 mm2 of at least 250 V rating.
