Our selection covers the main components used in LPG cylinder changeover installations, helping trade customers source kits, pigtails and supporting fittings in one place.
Our broad selection of automatic LPG changeover kits includes two-pack automatic changeover kits with OPSO, four-pack automatic changeover kits with OPSO, Clesse automatic changeover kits, type 628 and 700H kit options, kits with stainless-steel pigtails, and ROI two-pack automatic changeover kits with OPSO (available for use in the Republic of Ireland (ROI)).
Two to four propane conversion kits (35” and 750 mm S/S) to convert a two propane cylinder installation into a four-cylinder available in this collection. Our most popular conversion kits are the Two to Four Propane Conversion Kit - 35” and the Propane Two to Four Pack Conversion Kit – 750 mm S/S from Clesse. ROI Two to Four Propane Conversion Kit – 35” is also available for use in the Republic of Ireland.
Our LPG manual changeover kits comprise manual changeover valves, regulators, pigtails, pressure hoses and POL connectors with excess flow and non-return valves, shut-off valves, and mounting brackets. The Clesse LPG manual changeover kit with CSR OPSO also comes with a test point and a regulator fitted with a CSR OPSO system that offers enhanced protection.
Pigtail assemblies connect LPG cylinders to the regulator or changeover kit. At BES, we stock stainless steel pigtail assemblies in 500 mm and 750 mm lengths, including Stainless Steel Pigtail Assembly 500 mm N/R POL x W20, Stainless Steel Pigtail Assembly 750 mm N/R POL x W20 and Stainless Steel Pigtail Assembly 750 mm W20 x W20.
Maintaining and monitoring structural installations is supported by specialised auxiliary components. This includes heavy-duty Spare Mounting Brackets to securely anchor changeover blocks to external masonry or steel frames. For technical tracking, the Clesse CompacTi Remote Cylinder Monitor integrates electronic telemetry to transmit real-time supply-depletion metrics to operators. Additionally, the brass Clesse Tee Piece W20 allows installers to split or combine pigtail runs cleanly within a multi-bottle matrix.
An LPG changeover kit connects two or more propane or butane cylinders to a single regulated gas supply. It helps maintain a consistent outlet pressure for the appliance or installation and allows the supply to be switched from one cylinder, or cylinder bank, to another when gas runs low. Automatic changeover kits switch to the reserve cylinder without manual intervention, while manual kits require the user to switch the supply over by hand.
A typical LPG changeover kit may include a manual or automatic changeover regulator, pigtails, high-pressure hoses, connectors, shut-off valves, test points or test-point adaptors, and cylinder connection fittings. Many kits also include a wall-mounting bracket and an emergency instruction plaque, but contents vary by product, so always check the individual kit specification before ordering.
Choose an LPG changeover kit by checking the cylinder arrangement, appliance demand, outlet pressure, gas type, connection size and whether a manual or automatic changeover is required. A two-pack kit is often used for smaller LPG systems, while a four-pack kit may be selected where higher demand or longer run time between cylinder changes is needed. Also check whether the kit includes OPSO, stainless steel pigtails, mounting hardware and the correct cylinder connections for the installation.
LPG changeover kits should be installed, commissioned and tested by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer with the appropriate LPG scope of work. The kit should be securely mounted, correctly connected to the cylinders and downstream pipework, and checked for pressure, operation and leaks before use. Do not attempt DIY installation or alteration of LPG regulators, pigtails or changeover kits, as incorrect installation can pose serious gas safety risks.
As a one-stop shop for LPG, propane, butane and Campingaz products, our LPG range includes cooker hoses, alarms, meter boxes, fittings, regulators, valves and much more to cover all caravan, boating and BBQ needs.
With over 15,000 products available across the BES range and free delivery on qualifying orders and a free returns policy in place, we want to make it as hassle-free as possible to help you get the changeover kits and equipment you need.

What is an LPG gas changeover kit?
An LPG gas changeover kit connects two or more gas cylinders to a regulator, allowing the supply to be switched from one cylinder to another. Automatic kits switch to the reserve cylinder automatically, while manual kits require the user to switch cylinders by hand.
What is an OPSO gas changeover kit?
An OPSO gas changeover kit includes an Over Pressure Shut Off safety device. OPSO is designed to stop gas flow if downstream pressure becomes too high, helping protect pipework and appliances from over-pressure conditions.
What Does OPSO Mean?
OPSO stands for Over Pressure Shut Off. It is a safety device designed to shut off the gas supply if downstream pressure rises above a set level. OPSO protection helps reduce the risk of excessive pressure reaching pipework or appliances, making it an important feature on many LPG changeover regulators and kits. Always check the product specification to confirm whether OPSO is included.
What is the difference between a two-pack and four-pack changeover kit?
A two-pack kit connects two cylinders, typically one in service and the other in reserve. A four-pack kit connects four cylinders, usually arranged as two per side, providing greater cylinder capacity for higher-demand installations or longer run times.
Do I need an automatic or manual changeover kit?
Choose an automatic changeover kit when continuity of gas supply is important and you want the system to switch to the reserve cylinder automatically. Choose a manual changeover kit when manual switching is acceptable and the installation design allows it.
What capacity changeover kit do I need?
Capacity depends on the total appliance load, the required outlet pressure, pipework design, and cylinder offtake capability. Add together the LPG demand of all connected appliances, then choose a regulator or changeover kit with suitable capacity. A Gas Safe registered LPG engineer should confirm the final selection.
Are Clesse gas changeover kits suitable for propane and butane?
Suitability depends on the exact kit, regulator, pressure, pigtail connections and gas type. Many changeover kits are used with propane cylinder systems, but the individual product page and the manufacturer’s data should always be checked before purchase.
Can I install a two-pack manual changeover kit myself?
Gas changeover kits should be installed and tested by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer with the appropriate LPG scope. Installation involves gas pressure regulation, leak testing and safety checks, so it is not suitable for DIY.
When should LPG pigtails be replaced?
Pigtails should be replaced if damaged, kinked, cracked, corroded, leaking, heat-affected, or past the manufacturer’s recommended service life. Always check the hose or pigtail markings and follow the manufacturer’s replacement guidance.
